Sales development, bought the way you buy software

SDR as a Service applies a subscription model to the least predictable part of a sales org. Instead of a hiring plan, a recruiter, a ramp period and a redundancy risk, you have a monthly line item that can be increased or decreased with notice. The function is staffed, managed, tooled and measured by us; the pipeline lands in your CRM.

The distinction from a traditional outsourced arrangement is the elasticity. Most agency contracts assume a steady state. Sales development rarely is one — you need three callers before a trade show and one after it, or four while a competitor is distracted and two while you rebuild the product. A subscription model lets you match capacity to reality without an employment consequence every time the plan changes.

What is included in the subscription

    People

Named, dedicated SDRs assigned to your account only, with a team lead who owns quality. You interview them before they start. You hear their calls. If a rep is not right for your market, they get replaced without a recruitment cycle on your side.

    Data

List building and enrichment are inside the subscription, not billed on top. That includes direct-dial verification, decision-maker mapping, and TPS/CTPS screening within the 28-day window required by PECR before every campaign cycle.

    Technology

Dialler, call recording, and CRM integration are included. You are not asked to buy seats on a platform you will stop using when the engagement ends.

    Management

Script development, objection handling libraries, weekly calibration, and the reporting that tells you which segment is working. This is the layer companies most often under-resource in-house — a first SDR hire with no SDR manager above them is the most common reason internal outbound programmes fail.

    Scaling up and down

Capacity is expressed in dedicated caller units. Adding a unit takes about two weeks — the new rep needs onboarding into your product and your objections before they are useful, and skipping that step is how quality drops. Reducing capacity takes 30 days' notice. There is no penalty for scaling down and no premium for scaling back up later with the same reps, who retain your product knowledge.

Practically, most clients run at a steady baseline and flex upward around a launch, an event, or a new territory push.

How this compares to hiring in-house

    • Time to first meeting: weeks with a service model, months with a hire.
    • Fixed cost exposure: notice-period cancellable versus salaried plus statutory obligations.
    • Management overhead: included versus a sales manager's time, which is the hidden cost nobody budgets.
    • Learning retention: a service keeps the playbook when a rep leaves; an in-house team of one loses everything.
    • Ceiling: in-house wins long term. A mature, well-managed internal SDR team beats an agency at scale — the service model is how you get there without betting the year on a first hire.

We are straightforward about that last point. If you already have five SDRs and a competent manager, you do not need us. If you have zero and a board expecting pipeline in ninety days, you do.

    Reporting and accountability

Weekly: dials, connects, decision-maker conversations, meetings booked, and the conversion rate between each. Monthly: segment-level performance, objection frequency analysis, and a recommendation on where to reallocate calling hours. Quarterly: an honest read on whether the channel is working, including the case for stopping if it is not.

All call recordings are available to you continuously. We do not filter them.

    FAQs

Q: What is the minimum commitment?

A: Three months, then rolling with 30 days' notice. The three months exist because outbound data before week six is mostly setup noise, not because we want to trap anyone.

Q: Can we interview the SDRs before they are assigned?

A: Yes, and we encourage it. You are effectively hiring without the employment risk, so treat it like hiring.

Q: Who owns the playbook and the scripts?

A: You do. Scripts, objection libraries, list criteria and call recordings are yours, and we hand them over in a usable format whenever you ask — including if you are leaving to build the function internally.

Q: Do the SDRs work under our brand?

A: Yes. They introduce themselves as part of your team, using your email domain and a number consistent with your business. Prospects should not be able to tell.

Q: How does this differ from your outsourced SDR service?

A: Outsourced SDR services is the fixed-capacity version — a set team running a defined campaign. SDR as a Service is the elastic version, priced per caller unit with month-to-month scaling. Same people, different commercial structure.

Q: What if it does not work?

A: We will tell you before you notice. If six weeks of full-volume data says the channel is wrong for your offer, the useful thing we can do is say so and hand you the objection data explaining why, rather than sell you a fourth month.

What a dedicated SDR actually does for you

An outsourced SDR is not a call centre seat. They learn your product, own a target list, run the outbound sequence across phone and email, handle the objections your market throws, and hand your closers a qualified conversation. You get the output of a sales development hire without the recruitment cycle, the ramp time or the management overhead.

    Included in the monthly engagement

    • A named SDR working your accounts, not a rotating pool
    • Ideal customer profile definition and list build
    • Multi-touch outbound: calls, email follow-up and LinkedIn where relevant
    • Qualification against agreed criteria before anything reaches your calendar
    • CRM hygiene, call recordings and a weekly pipeline review

SDR as a service versus hiring in-house

An in-house SDR in the UK costs salary, tooling, data, and three to six months of ramp before predictable output — plus a manager who knows how to coach outbound. Outsourcing compresses that to a couple of weeks and lets you stop or scale at the end of a campaign rather than through a redundancy process. The trade-off is that an in-house hire eventually absorbs deeper product knowledge, which is why some clients use us to prove the channel first and hire once the numbers are known.

    How performance is measured

We report dials, connect rate, conversations, meetings booked, meetings held and, where you share it, pipeline value created. Meetings held matters more than meetings booked, so no-show handling and reminder sequences are part of the service rather than an afterthought.

    Pricing and commitment

SDR as a service is a monthly retainer priced on the number of days per week the SDR works your account and the complexity of your qualification. We quote after a discovery call. See cold calling pricing for the retainer structure, or compare with telesales outsourcing and our appointment setting service.

    Frequently asked questions

Is the SDR dedicated to us?

Yes, on the days contracted. You get a named person you can speak to, not an anonymous queue.

What tools do you work in?

Yours where possible — we work directly in your CRM so the pipeline stays in one place and is yours at the end of the engagement.

    What is the minimum term?

Outbound needs enough cycles to be measured fairly, so we recommend at least three months before judging the channel.

Can the SDR handle inbound too?

They can qualify inbound enquiries alongside outbound, which many clients find is the fastest early win.
