What UK sales outsourcing should and should not cover
"Sales outsourcing" is used to describe two very different things, and conflating them is how companies end up disappointed. The first is outsourcing the top of the funnel — prospecting, qualification, meeting generation. The second is outsourcing the whole cycle, including closing and account management.
We do the first, deliberately. Top-of-funnel outbound is a repeatable, coachable, measurable process that an external team can genuinely run better than most in-house functions, because it rewards specialisation and volume of reps. Closing is not. Closing depends on deep product knowledge, commercial authority, and the ability to hold a room — and an outsourced closer will almost always be worse at it than your own, while costing you margin and control.
If a UK sales outsourcing company offers to close your deals, ask them how many of your product's technical objections they can answer unaided. The answer tells you what you need to know.
How we work as a sales outsourcing partner
Market mapping first
We start by sizing and segmenting your addressable UK market — how many companies genuinely match your ICP, which segments are reachable by phone, and where the decision-maker density is highest. This regularly surfaces a segment the client had underweighted, and occasionally reveals that the ICP as stated is too small to support the pipeline target, which is worth knowing before you spend.
Offer and positioning work
A cold call has about eight seconds to earn the next thirty. Most campaigns fail on the offer rather than the execution — the pitch is a description of the product rather than a reason to take a meeting. We rework the opener with your closers before dialling, and rework it again in week two once we have heard real objections.
Dedicated calling capacity
Named SDRs on your account only, with a team lead owning quality and a researcher owning data. You interview them, you hear their calls, and you can have one replaced without a recruitment cycle.
Handover discipline
A booked meeting is only useful if it happens. Every meeting gets a confirmation, a calendar invite with context notes for your closer, and a reminder sequence. Meetings that fail the agreed qualification bar are not counted.
Sectors we work in
- B2B professional services and consultancies
- SaaS and technology, typically £5k+ annual contract value
- Financial services, brokerage and commercial insurance
- Recruitment and staffing
- Construction, property and facilities management
- Logistics, supply chain and manufacturing
We decline sectors where we have no calling history. Learning your market on your retainer is not a service.
Compliance and brand safety
Outbound done badly damages a brand permanently, and in the UK it can also be unlawful. Every list is screened against TPS and CTPS inside the 28-day window Regulation 21 of PECR requires, before each cycle. Opt-outs are suppressed across all future campaigns, not just the current one. Calls are recorded, and you can listen to any of them at any time.
Free tool: pre-screen your own list with our TPS checker before you dial.
Commercial terms
Monthly retainer, priced by caller capacity, published openly on our pricing page. Three-month initial term, then rolling with 30 days' notice. No per-lead pricing, no commission on closed deals, no clause that makes it expensive to leave.
The three-month minimum is about data, not lock-in: a fair read on an outbound channel needs six weeks of full-volume dialling after a two-week setup. Judging it sooner means judging the setup.
How to compare UK sales outsourcing companies
Five questions that separate the serious from the rest:
- Are the reps dedicated or shared? Shared reps mean shared attention and a generic pitch.
- Can you hear unfiltered call recordings? A curated highlight reel tells you nothing.
- Who owns the data and the playbook? If it is not you, you are renting your own pipeline.
- What is the agreed qualification bar, in writing? Without one, "meeting" means whatever suits the invoice.
- How is TPS/CTPS screening handled and how often? "We use clean data" is not an answer.
Ask us these too. We would rather lose a pitch to a better-fitting agency than win one we cannot deliver.
